Many children and teens need good homes and families
to love & care for them!
Foster care is no
longer about families composed of a mother and father but includes
single, gay and lesbian families as well.
What is a Resource Family?
Resource families are
families who provide a stable, safe and loving environment for a
child when his/her own family is unable to do so. A resource
family may be a relative,
a foster family, or
an adoptive family.
Let the Plainfield Area YMCA guide you and your family through the
process of becoming a licensed Resource Family. For most the process
will take only 90 days.
The YMCA will help to provide supportive services while a child
resides in your home. During the time a child is placed in your
home, you will receive financial assistance, a clothing allowance,
health coverage for that child and childcare for those resource
families who are employed or in school.
