A forum on “Women in New Jersey Politics” will be held at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, October 17 at 7:30 pm.  New Jersey ranks 28th among the 50 states in the proportion of women serving in its legislatures.  This panel discussion will focus on how to involve more women in NJ politics as well as explore the idea of a women’s agenda and the role of feminism in politics.

The forum will be held at Rutgers University at the Ruth Dill Johnson Crockett Building –- Center for Women’s Programs, 162 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick. Admission is free.

Speakers will include NJ State Senator Barbara Buono of Legislative District 18, Highland Park Councilwoman Hon. Elsie Foster-Dublin, Mayor Colleen M. Mahr of the Borough of Fanwood, and Melonie Marano, Committeewoman, Green Brook Township Committee, and Candidate for Somerset County Freeholder.

The forum is sponsored by the Middlesex County National Organization for Women (NOW) and the Rutgers Department of Women’s and Gender Studies
