Baltimore, MD -- Maryland's
Court of Appeals will be webcasting live arguments in the same-sex marriage case
beginning Monday.
The court will begin broadcasting arguments at 10am on Thursday, Friday, Monday
and Tuesday. Because this is a pilot project, there may be technical
difficulties that may delay the webcast. If you experience any problems,
please keep trying.
On Thursday, the court will hear criminal law, corporation and mental health
arguments. Among the issues discussed will be the question of whether an
involuntary psychiatric patient must be a danger to himself or to the
person/property of others inside the facility before he can be forcibly
medicated.
The arguments will be webcast live in the RealMedia format. Webcasts will
be archived and made available on the site a few hours after the conclusion of
the last argument scheduled each day. To view the webcast, you must have
RealPlayer 10 or higher. This free software can be downloaded to your
computer.
Webcasts are made available to the general public for informational purposes
only and are not an official record of court proceedings. Rebroadcasting
this transmission is prohibited without the express permission of the Court of
Appeals.
