OKLAHOMA CITY -- Some
participants of this weekend's gay rodeo say they are afraid to use their real
name in the event.
Officials say this year marks the 21st annual Great Plains Rodeo sponsored by
the Oklahoma Gay Rodeo Association. There will be more than 130
competitors, both gay and straight, at the State Fair Park this weekend.
Many of the cowboys say they fear their reputations will be ruined if people
from their businesses, churches or civic groups found out about their sexual
orientation.
Many have chosen to go by aliases or initials in the competition.
