LONDON, England -- Homosexual personnel in the British military will be entitled to married quarters in December if they are in registered civil unions.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense told Sky News that the Civil Partnerships Act, which takes effect on Dec. 5, means that all partners in gay unions must get the same benefits as married couples.  That does not apply to unmarried heterosexual couples and gay partners who have not registered.

Britain only legalized open homosexuality in its military four years ago.
