Gender Identity Bill in New Jersey

The New Jersey Legislature currently has a bill, introduced by Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, that would add gender identity/expression as a protected category under the NJ Law Against Discrimination in all areas--employment, housing, and public accommodations.  This bill would enhance and strengthen New Jersey's Law Against Discrimination, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.  The sponsors so far in the State Senate for Senate Bill 2437 are:

* Senator Ellen Karcher
* Senator Joseph Vitale

In the General Assembly, the sponsors of A-3678 to date include the following Assembly members (which includes bipartisan sponsorship):
