Asbury Park, NJ June 5 -- Pop singer Amber will headline the 14th annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Intersexed Pride Celebration, presented by Jersey Pride and scheduled to take place in Asbury Park from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The event, held at Fifth and Ocean avenues, is sponsored by Bank of America and is considered the state's major event celebrating pride for lesbians, gay men, bisexual, transgendered and intersexed people.  The day includes performances, a parade and exhibits featuring community information and arts and crafts.

While the main event does not occur until Sunday, related festivities are taking place all weekend throughout the city.  The Wonder Bar is one of several establishments participating.

Wonder Bar owner Debbie DeLisa said this will be the third year the bar will be taking part in the event since its reopening at 1213 Ocean Ave.

Tonight's entertainment features Melissa Ferrick and opening act Terry Little & Juice, with a $15 cover.

On Sunday, there will be a "Gay Pride Parade Party" from noon to midnight, with free admission and a performance by Terry Little & Juice at 7 p.m.

"It's a great weekend," said DeLisa. "Everybody has a great, great time."  Other participating venues include Club Paradise and the Circuit, a new gay club at 915 Kingsley St.  (formerly Zippers), which will have its official grand opening in July.

The Pride Celebration also will include the state's largest outdoor display of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt.

Amber's hits include "This Is Your Night," "Sexual (Li Da Di)" and "If You Could Read My Mind."

Other scheduled performers include Gioia (formerly of Expose), Jade Starling of Pretty Poison, disappear fear, Josh Zuckerman, Androgene, Namoli Brennet, Virago, Kate Sawicki and Lez Zeppelin — billed as the world's first and only all-girl Led Zeppelin tribute band.

Emceeing the event will be comedian Jade Esteban Estrada.

The Pride parade kicks off at noon and will include floats, cars, motorcycles and marchers.
