Harvey Hosts Latino Leadership Summit

On July 18, Attorney General Harvey
hosted the first Office of the Attorney General Latino Leadership Summit.
The Office of the Attorney General welcomed close to 150 Latino community,
business and industry and academic leaders, elected officials, and civic and
religious leaders.
The Summit focused on existing and future programs and services of the
Department of Law and Public Safety, particularly those of interest to the
Latino community in New Jersey. Issues that were discussed include: voting
rights, law enforcement, criminal justice and gang violence and prevention, and
other programs. Attendees also were given a brief overview of each of the
divisions within the Department of Law and Public Safety by each Division
Director and the opportunity to dialogue with Attorney General Harvey.
Additional meetings will be held to discuss specific issues affecting the Latino
community.
