New Jersey Cares About Cyber-Bullying Conference

New Jersey State Police Training Building

Hamilton, New Jersey

May 17, 2005

SDAG Hester Agudosi, Samantha Hahn, National America Miss Teen

SDAG Hester Agudosi, Office of Bias Crime and Community Relations (OBCCR), opened the session with an outline of the program with emphasis on Cyber-Bullying as an introduction to the Harassment and Bullying effort in place by the OBCCR.

Samantha Hahn, the National American Miss Teen for 2005 shared her experience of being the victim of bullying in the New Jersey school system.  She was subjected to harassment and bullying for several years which included the use of e-mail to her and messages transmitted throughout the school.  She has dedicated her reign as National American Miss Teen for 2005 to working to end harassment and bullying in schools.

This was an excellent session with information on the fast growing use of cyber-bullying throughout the country.

We have distributed a couple good articles on the subject of Cyber-Bullying since the Conference.  The links below will take you to the articles.
