Governor James E. McGreevey

The invitations were posted July 29, 2004 before the “I am a gay American” statement on the 12^th of August.  The reception was held on the 19^th.  I took a number of pictures and wanted to get one with the Governor, but there was no one there I felt like asking to take the picture.  This was the best one of him so this picture is what I will have to remember the event.

The reception was basically a group of people who dearly love Jim McGreevey.  There were teary eyes, and I knew that if I tried to talk to him I could lose it, so I did not try.

There is a picture of Drumthwacket with the event photo of July 9^th for the reception celebrating the NJ Domestic Partner Benefits Law, and there are a number of articles on our homepage, starting the 12^th of August, regarding McGreevey's resignation.  The event photo for the oath of Commissioner, NJ Civil Rights Commission, is dated June 10^th, 2003.                 John Crowell Campbell
