THE LARAMIE PROJECT
As part of your effort to promote
respectful human relations in Hunterdon County. We look forward to the day
when all Counties in New Jersey will follow your example in respecting and
supporting diversity.
We have
been working since the amendment to the N.J. Law Against Discrimination,
that included sexual orientation, was signed in 1993. We are sorry to
report that the amendment still has not been implemented by the school
system. We are encouraged with the progress that is being made since the
change in the administration with the signing of legislation regarding
Harassment and Bullying in the schools and the appointment of individuals
to the agencies that are responsible for implementation of legislation
that will insure the protection of our students and teachers. It is up to
each of us to see that our schools are safe and that these responsible
individuals see that the protective legislation is fully implemented.
